Many professionals in companies across the UK, as well as private individuals, have benefited from an Swedish Language Course with SIMON & SIMON.

Courses designed specifically around your needs

We have a terrific team of qualified native-speaker Swedish teachers with an average of 15 years’ experience.

They will ensure you benefit from a course designed specifically around your needs, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced learner with more specialised requirements. We consistently receive excellent feedback on our Swedish tutors from our clients,. We send our students a profile on their Swedish tutor prior to their Swedish lessons commencing, with information on the tutor’s background and experience for your own piece of mind.

If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile. Your Swedish teacher in London will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Swedish. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Swedish.

In depth: Our Swedish Language Courses in London

1:1 and Group Swedish Courses in London

Our Swedish Courses in London can either be arranged on a 1:1 or group basis. While the majority of our clients will choose to opt for a 1:1 Swedish Course, group sessions prove to be great value for money. Although group sessions are good value, they will require the commitment of all those involved, and participant numbers should not exceed 6 candidates per course. If you require faster progress then a 1:1 Swedish Course in London will be better suited to your requirements, as the course can be fully customised to the individuals needs while focusing on their specific strengths and weaknesses.

About Swedish

Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, especially along its coast and on the Åland islands. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with Norwegian and to a lesser extent with Danish. Along with the other North Germanic languages, Swedish is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. It is currently the largest of the North Germanic languages by numbers of speakers.

About London

London is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. London has the biggest population within Europe with over 8.6 million residents. However, this is not the largest population London has seen, with the current population equivalent to the population 76 years ago. To cope with the extreme population of London, there are approximately 10000 miles of sewage pipes underneath London.

London has been a major settlement for two millennia. Founded by the Romans, who called it Londinium, London retains its square-mile mediaeval boundaries where you will find today’s financial and business hub of London. London is a leading global city, with its strengths in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence as a city. London is the world’s largest financial centre alongside New York and has the largest city GDP in Europe.

London is home to 43 universities which forms the largest concentration of higher education institutions in Europe. In 2012, London became the first city to host the Summer Olympic Games three times. London is also leading the way in transport and is home to London Heathrow airport which sees the largest amount of international passengers pass through it compared to any other airport in the world, and is also home to the London Underground which has annual passenger numbers of over 1.25 billion.

Assess Your Swedish Level

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions across the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their Swedish language trainer in London can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise Swedish in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.
