Russian Language Courses

Of the Slavic languages, Russian is the most spoken, and it is also the language that is spoken most widely geographically speaking in Eurasia. It is one of the six official languages used by the United Nations, and is currently the official language of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, along with a number of smaller or unrecognised areas. It is one of the last three surviving East Slavic languages.

At SIMON & SIMON we offer a variety of options for Russian training courses. We are able to provide either 1:1 or group sessions, whichever suits your business. With careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, as the students can help each other outside of the session times. However, we strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful.

Our 1:1 Russian sessions will see participants make much faster progress, as the course will be tailored to their individual needs and the teacher can concentrate on their individual strengths and weaknesses.

Course Management

All SIMON & SIMON language courses are managed by one of our highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Managers.

At the start of your Russian language course we will send you a profile of your trainer, followed by all the relevant course materials. After the course has started we will send you a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training and you will also receive invaluable weblinks to a range of language learning sources.

Boasting experience in organising a vast amount of courses for clients in numerous locations, SIMON & SIMON have a global network of language trainers in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond. So no matter where you are located we have an expert Russian teacher near you.

The vast majority of our Russian lessons take place at our clients’ offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Russian lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient.

We can also arrange Russian language courses for you at our offices if necessary, or it can also be done online so you can literally take your lesson anywhere there is an internet connection.

Russian Course Schedules

Our Russian teachers are available Monday – Friday from 8am – 6pm, and weekend courses can also be arranged on request.

Most of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week, but many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments.

Alternatively, our intensive Russian language courses run for 30 hours per week, (6 hours per day Monday – Friday), and take place on our clients’ premises or anywhere they are more comfortable.

Your Russian language course will be tailored to reflect your level and your particular objectives. We assess your level before your course starts, and we will discuss with you want to achieve from our course and what you will be using Russian for.

SIMON & SIMON have a vast amount of experience teaching a wide range of levels, from complete beginner looking for day-to-day Russian survival language skills to more capable Russian speakers. When creating your individual course we take into account the type of work you are involved in and reflect this in the content of your course, be that: law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing, and administration.

Russian Language Examination Courses

Need help passing a Russian language exam? Here at SIMON & SIMON we are proud to say our students have a 95% pass rate in examinations, which further underlines the value we place on working with Russian teachers with years of experience. Furthermore, we will organise the registration and administration for your exams.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions across the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their Russian language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise Russian in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.
