Adopting the Communicative Approach, students can see progress right from there very first session.
Our Portuguese Courses in London can either be arranged on a 1:1 or group basis. While the majority of our clients will choose to opt for a 1:1 Portuguese Course, group sessions prove to be great value for money. Although group sessions are good value, they will require the commitment of all those involved, and participant numbers should not exceed 6 candidates per course. If you require faster progress then a 1:1 Portuguese Course in London will be better suited to your requirements, as the course can be fully customised to the individuals needs while focusing on their specific strengths and weaknesses.

Portuguese is a Romance language developed from Galician-Portuguese that was spoken in the medieval Kingdom of Galicia. It is an official language of the European Union, the Organisation of American States, the African Union, and Lusophone countries. With around 240 million speakers, Portuguese is the sixth-most spoken language in the world. Portuguese is the official language of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Mozambique. According to estimates by UNESCO, Portuguese and Spanish are the fastest-growing European languages after English and the language has the highest potential for growth as an international language in southern Africa and South America.
London is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. London has the biggest population within Europe with over 8.6 million residents. However, this is not the largest population London has seen, with the current population equivalent to the population 76 years ago. To cope with the extreme population of London, there are approximately 10000 miles of sewage pipes underneath London.
London has been a major settlement for two millennia. Founded by the Romans, who called it Londinium, London retains its square-mile mediaeval boundaries where you will find today’s financial and business hub of London. London is a leading global city, with its strengths in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence as a city. London is the world’s largest financial centre alongside New York and has the largest city GDP in Europe.
London is home to 43 universities which forms the largest concentration of higher education institutions in Europe. In 2012, London became the first city to host the Summer Olympic Games three times. London is also leading the way in transport and is home to London Heathrow airport which sees the largest amount of international passengers pass through it compared to any other airport in the world, and is also home to the London Underground which has annual passenger numbers of over 1.25 billion.
The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions across the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their Portuguese language trainer in London can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practice Portuguese in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.
