Dutch Course Locations & Schedules
SIMON & SIMON has arranged Dutch language courses for clients in numerous locations, and with our global network of language trainers we can organise a Dutch language course for you wherever you are – in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond. The vast majority of our Dutch lessons take place at our clients’ offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Dutch lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient. We can also arrange full-time residential Dutch language courses for you – just contact our office for information on available destinations.
Birmingham Dutch Course Schedules
The Dutch language courses in Birmingham that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can also arrange Weekend Courses for you. Dutch courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 6pm. Intensive Dutch language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.
Dutch Course Content
Before you start your Dutch language course we will assess your level of Dutch and speak to you about your aims so that your Dutch language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Dutch before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Dutch when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Dutch in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Dutch language trainers will tailor your Dutch course so that your goals can be quickly met.
Dutch Language Examination Courses
We are happy to help in your preparation for any Dutch examinations. About Dutch
Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of the majority of the population of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, the three member states of the Dutch Language Union. Most speakers live in the European Union, where it is a first language for about 23 million and a second language for another 5 million people. It also holds official status in the Caribbean island nations of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten, while historical minorities remain in parts of France and Germany, and to a lesser extent, in Indonesia, and up to 600,000 native Dutch-speakers may be living in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
About Birmingham
Birmingham is a city in the West Midlands, England, and holds the largest population outside of London, in the UK. Developed from a medium-sized market town, Birmingham grew to international prominence during the 18th century, at the heart of the industrial revolution.
By 1791, Birmingham, was recognised as “the first manufacturing town in the world”. Birmingham holds the second largest metropolitan economy in the UK, with a GDP of $121.1bn in 2014. Birmingham as a settlement dates back to the Anglo-Saxon era, but there is substantial evidence to suggest a short-lived influx of population occurred between 1700BC and 1000BC, this could have possibly been caused due to conflict or immigration in the surrounding areas.
Birmingham is the youngest city in Europe, with under 25’s accounting for nearly 40% of its population. Although a major city during the industrial revolution, Birmingham is home to some 8,000 acres of parks and open space. An estimated 40% of the UK’s jewellery is produced in Birmingham.
