In depth: Our Czech Courses for Business in Corby

1:1 and Group Czech Courses in Corby

Czech language courses by SIMON & SIMON have been honed down to give you the greatest progress and value for money.

While we offer learning options on both a 1:1 and group basis, we find that most of our learners benefit most from 1 to 1 language training courses.

Group training offers great value for money, but the commitment and organisation to ensure the participants all show up at the same time every week is a trade-off. We recommend no more than 6 participants in a group otherwise the quality of the learning will drop dramatically for all learners.

Corby Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual.

At the start of your Czech language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

And if you have an urgency to learn Czech, you can take part in an intensive Czech language course which consists of 6 hours every day Monday – Friday giving you 30 hours per week.

Czech Course Content

We do not run standardised Czech language courses. Instead, one of our multi-lingual Account Managers will speak to you directly and tailor the course to your particular objectives. Your teacher then guides you through your learning at the pace and in the direction that you yourself help to set.

This means that whether you’re an absolute beginning looking to “just survive” in the Czech Republic, or if you are a professional who wishes to understand the nuances of the language in order to perform better in a law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing or administration context, you will be able to find what you need with SIMON & SIMON’s Czech language courses.

About Czech

Czech is a West Slavic language with about 12 million native speakers; it is the majority language in the Czech Republic and spoken by Czechs worldwide. The language was known as Bohemian in English until the late 19th century. Czech is similar to and mutually intelligible with Slovak and, to a considerably lesser extent, to Polish and Sorbian.

Corby is in a triangle formed by Leicester, Peterborough and Northampton. The Borough of Corby borders onto the Borough of Kettering, the District of East Northamptonshire and the District of Harborough.

Assess Your Czech Level

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions across the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their Czech language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise Czech in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.
