Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. If you require faster progress, 1:1 Vietnamese courses at East Sussex are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths.

Vietnamese Course Management

SIMON & SIMON’s Vietnamese language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual. At the start of your Vietnamese course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will send you our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, which contains a wonderful prize draw as well as weblinks to valuable language learning resources.

The Vietnamese language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Vietnamese language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Vietnamese lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Vietnamese lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Vietnamese language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

East Sussex Vietnamese Course Schedules

Our Vietnamese language courses in East Sussex take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Vietnamese daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Vietnamese language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Vietnamese language course that you undertake will be customised for your Vietnamese level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Vietnamese level. You may have little or no experience of Vietnamese and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Vietnamese skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Vietnamese language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Vietnamese course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Vietnamese Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Vietnamese examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Vietnamese teachers in East Sussex who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Vietnamese examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Vietnamese is the national and official language of Vietnam. It is the mother tongue of 86% of Vietnam's population, and of about three million overseas Vietnamese. It is also spoken as a second language by many ethnic minorities of Vietnam. It is part of the Austro-Asiatic language family, of which it has the most speakers by a significant margin (several times larger than the other Austroasiatic languages put together). Much of Vietnamese vocabulary has been borrowed from Chinese, most notably Cantonese, especially words that denote abstract ideas (in the same way European languages borrow from Latin and Greek), and it was formerly written using the Chinese writing system, albeit in a modified format and was given vernacular pronunciation.

East Sussex is a county in South East England. It is bordered by the counties of Kent, Surrey and West Sussex, and to the south by the English Channel. East Sussex is part of the ancient kingdom of the South Saxons, who established themselves there in the fifth century AD, after the departure of the Romans, although the area had been populated for many thousands of years before then. Archaeological remains are plentiful, especially in the upland areas. The area's position on the coast has also meant that there were many invaders, including the Romans and later the Normans. Earlier industries have included fishing, iron-making, and the wool trade, all of which have declined, or lost completely. The ancient kingdom of Sussex has had two separate county administrations since the 12th century, with the county town of the eastern division being Lewes. This situation was formalised by Parliament in 1865, and the two parts were given distinct elected county councils in 1889 under the Local Government Act 1888. In East Sussex there were also three self-administered county boroughs: Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings.
