Vietnamese Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Vietnamese languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Vietnamese course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Vietnamese language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Vietnamese language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Vietnamese language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Cardiff Vietnamese Course Schedules

We run our Vietnamese language courses in Cardiff all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Vietnamese courses on request. Our Vietnamese programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Vietnamese language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Vietnamese course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Vietnamese and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Vietnamese skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Vietnamese and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Vietnamese for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Vietnamese language trainers will tailor your Vietnamese course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Vietnamese Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Vietnamese examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Vietnamese is the national and official language of Vietnam. It is the mother tongue of 86% of Vietnam's population, and of about three million overseas Vietnamese. It is also spoken as a second language by many ethnic minorities of Vietnam. It is part of the Austro-Asiatic language family, of which it has the most speakers by a significant margin (several times larger than the other Austroasiatic languages put together). Much of Vietnamese vocabulary has been borrowed from Chinese, most notably Cantonese, especially words that denote abstract ideas (in the same way European languages borrow from Latin and Greek), and it was formerly written using the Chinese writing system, albeit in a modified format and was given vernacular pronunciation.

Cardiff is the capital, largest city and most populous county of Wales. The city is Wales' chief commercial centre, the base for most national cultural and sporting institutions, the Welsh national media, and the seat of the National Assembly for Wales.
