Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Vietnamese Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Vietnamese speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Vietnamese teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Vietnamese teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Vietnamese lessons start.

New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is now approached. This training, with more fun and a more worthwhile experience means that it’s a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. When you start a Vietnamese course in Berkshire, you will make progress from the very first lesson, as almost everything will be done in Vietnamese. This is known as the Communicative Approach, and means that your confidence and ability will soon grow so that you can use Vietnamese to communicate in social and business settings.

Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Vietnamese language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Vietnamese training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7. Progress is faster for those who learn Vietnamese in Berkshire on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Vietnamese Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Vietnamese language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Vietnamese course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

Vietnamese language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Vietnamese language course. We can arrange your Vietnamese language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Vietnamese language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Berkshire Vietnamese Course Schedules

Our Vietnamese language courses in Berkshire go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Vietnamese can be arranged on request. Our Vietnamese courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Vietnamese courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Vietnamese language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Vietnamese language course we will assess your goals and level of Vietnamese experience. Your desire to learn Vietnamese may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Vietnamese to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Vietnamese in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Vietnamese trainers experience and that your Vietnamese language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met.

Vietnamese Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Vietnamese examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Vietnamese teachers in Berkshire who have a higher level of experience than average. SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Vietnamese examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Vietnamese Courses Berkshire

Vietnamese is the national and official language of Vietnam. It is the mother tongue of 86% of Vietnam's population, and of about three million overseas Vietnamese. It is also spoken as a second language by many ethnic minorities of Vietnam. It is part of the Austro-Asiatic language family, of which it has the most speakers by a significant margin (several times larger than the other Austroasiatic languages put together). Much of Vietnamese vocabulary has been borrowed from Chinese, most notably Cantonese, especially words that denote abstract ideas (in the same way European languages borrow from Latin and Greek), and it was formerly written using the Chinese writing system, albeit in a modified format and was given vernacular pronunciation.

Berkshire is a historic county in the South East of England. It is also often referred to as the Royal County of Berkshire because of the presence of the royal residence of Windsor Castle in the county; this usage, which dates to the 19th century at least, was recognised by the Queen in 1958, and letters patent issued confirming this in 1974. Berkshire borders the counties of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Wiltshire and Hampshire, and is usually regarded as one of the home counties. Under boundary changes in 1995, it also acquired a boundary with Greater London. Historically the county town was Abingdon, but in 1867 the town of Reading – by then much larger – superseded Abingdon in this role. In 1974 local government reorganisation moved Abingdon and several other north-west Berkshire towns into Oxfordshire. A later reorganisation, in 1998, abolished Berkshire County Council, although retaining Berkshire as a ceremonial county. The highest tier of local government in Berkshire are now the unitary authorities of Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham.
