Your Turkish lessons in Plymouth will be carried out almost completely in Turkish. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Turkish to communicate in various business and social situations.

We offer Turkish courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Turkish training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money. Plymouth Turkish Course Schedules

We run Turkish language courses in Plymouth all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Turkish weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Turkish language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Turkish language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Turkish language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Turkish conversational skills or have more proficiency in Turkish and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Turkish for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Turkish language trainers will work with you on a Turkish language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Turkish Language Examination Courses

Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Turkish teachers in Plymouth with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Turkish examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Turkish Courses Plymouth

Turkish is spoken as a native language by over 83 million people worldwide, making it the most commonly spoken of the Turkic languages. Its speakers are located predominantly in Turkey and Northern Cyprus with smaller groups in Iraq, Greece, Bulgaria, the Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania and other parts of Eastern Europe. Turkish is also spoken by several million immigrants in Western Europe, particularly in Germany.

Plymouth is a city and unitary authority area on the coast of Devon, England, about 190 miles (310 km) south-west of London. It is built between the mouths of the rivers Plym to the east and Tamar to the west, where they join Plymouth Sound. Since 1967 the City of Plymouth has included the suburbs of Plympton and Plymstock, which are on the east side of the River Plym. Plymouth's history goes back to the Bronze Age, when its first settlement grew at Mount Batten. This settlement continued to grow as a trading post for the Roman Empire, until the more prosperous village of Sutton, the current Plymouth, surpassed it. In 1620 the Pilgrim Fathers left Plymouth for the New World and established Plymouth Colony – the second English settlement in what is now the United States of America. During the English Civil War the town was held by the Parliamentarians and was besieged between 1642 and 1646. Throughout the Industrial Revolution Plymouth grew as a major shipping port, handling imports and passengers from the Americas, while the neighbouring town of Devonport grew as an important Royal Naval shipbuilding and dockyard town. The county boroughs of Plymouth and Devonport, and the urban district of East Stonehouse were merged in 1914 to form the single county borough of Plymouth – collectively referred to as The Three Towns.
