Turkish Courses for Business in OxfordPlease click a title below for further information: Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Turkish courses, taught by a team of qualified native Turkish speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience.
The feedback on our Turkish tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Turkish course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Turkish teacher’s experience and background. If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience!
Your teacher will conduct your Turkish lesson in Oxford almost entirely in Turkish - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Turkish in a variety of social and business situations. Our Turkish language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Turkish training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful.
Those learning Turkish in at Oxford on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses. Turkish Course ManagementEach of SIMON & SIMON’s Turkish languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager.
When you start your Turkish course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources. Turkish language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Turkish language course.
We can arrange your Turkish language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel.

30 hour per week intensive Turkish courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday. We will tailor your Turkish language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Turkish language course we will assess your goals and level of Turkish experience.
Your desire to learn Turkish may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Turkish to discuss business.
You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Turkish in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills.
No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Turkish trainers experience and that your Turkish language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met. Turkish Language Examination CoursesOur students’ pass rate for Turkish examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Turkish teachers in Oxford who have a higher level of experience than average.
SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Turkish examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Turkish Courses Oxford Turkish is spoken as a native language by over 83 million people worldwide, making it the most commonly spoken of the Turkic languages. Its speakers are located predominantly in Turkey and Northern Cyprus with smaller groups in Iraq, Greece, Bulgaria, the Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania and other parts of Eastern Europe. Turkish is also spoken by several million immigrants in Western Europe, particularly in Germany. Oxford is a city, and the county town of Oxfordshire, in South East England. The city, made prominent by its medieval university, has a population of just under 165,000, with 151,000 living within the district boundary. The rivers Cherwell and Thames run through Oxford and meet south of the city centre. For a distance of some 10 miles (16 km) along the river, in the vicinity of Oxford, the Thames is known as The Isis.
Buildings in Oxford demonstrate an example of every British architectural period since the arrival of the Saxons, including the iconic, mid-18th century Radcliffe Camera. Oxford is known as the "city of dreaming spires", a term coined by poet Matthew Arnold in reference to the harmonious architecture of Oxford's university buildings. The University of Oxford is the oldest university in the English-speaking world.
Oxford was first occupied in Saxon times, and was initially known as "Oxenaforda", meaning "Ford of the Ox"; fords being more commonly used than bridges at that time. It began with the foundation of St Frideswide's nunnery in the 8th century, and was first mentioned in written records in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle for the year 912. In the 10th century Oxford became an important military frontier town between the kingdoms of Mercia and Wessex and was on several occasions raided by Danes. St Frideswide is the patron saint of both the city and university.
