If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile. Your Turkish teacher in East Sussex will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Turkish. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Turkish.

Our Turkish language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Turkish training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Turkish in at East Sussex on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Turkish Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Turkish languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Turkish course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON’s Turkish language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Turkish language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Turkish language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. East Sussex Turkish Course Schedules

We run our Turkish language courses in East Sussex all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Turkish courses on request. Our Turkish programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Turkish language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Turkish course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Turkish and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Turkish skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Turkish and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Turkish for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Turkish language trainers will tailor your Turkish course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Turkish Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Turkish examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Turkish is spoken as a native language by over 83 million people worldwide, making it the most commonly spoken of the Turkic languages. Its speakers are located predominantly in Turkey and Northern Cyprus with smaller groups in Iraq, Greece, Bulgaria, the Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania and other parts of Eastern Europe. Turkish is also spoken by several million immigrants in Western Europe, particularly in Germany.

East Sussex is a county in South East England. It is bordered by the counties of Kent, Surrey and West Sussex, and to the south by the English Channel. East Sussex is part of the ancient kingdom of the South Saxons, who established themselves there in the fifth century AD, after the departure of the Romans, although the area had been populated for many thousands of years before then. Archaeological remains are plentiful, especially in the upland areas. The area's position on the coast has also meant that there were many invaders, including the Romans and later the Normans. Earlier industries have included fishing, iron-making, and the wool trade, all of which have declined, or lost completely. The ancient kingdom of Sussex has had two separate county administrations since the 12th century, with the county town of the eastern division being Lewes. This situation was formalised by Parliament in 1865, and the two parts were given distinct elected county councils in 1889 under the Local Government Act 1888. In East Sussex there were also three self-administered county boroughs: Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings.
