However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Thai Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Thai language course. On starting your Thai course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. The Thai language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Thai language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Thai lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Thai lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Thai language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Nottingham Thai Course Schedules

The Thai language courses in Nottingham that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Thai courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Thai language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Thai language course we will assess your level of Thai and speak to you about your aims so that your Thai language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Thai before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Thai when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Thai in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Thai language trainers will tailor your Thai course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Thai Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Thai examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Thai teachers in Nottingham. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Thai examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Thai is the national and official language of Thailand and the native language of the Thai people, Thailand's dominant ethnic group. Thai is a member of the Tai group of the Tai-Kadai language family. Historical linguists have been unable to definitively link the Tai-Kadai languages to any other language family. Some words in Thai are borrowed from Pali, Sanskrit and Old Khmer. It is a tonal and analytic language. Thai also has a complex orthography and relational markers. Thai is mutually intelligible with Lao, whereas the Isaan dialect is almost the same as Lao.

Nottingham is a city and unitary authority area in the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom. It is located in the ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire, and is one of eight members of the English Core Cities Group. Whilst the City of Nottingham has a historically tightly drawn boundary which accounts for its relatively small population of 288,700, the wider Nottingham Urban Area has a population of 667,000 and is the seventh-largest urban area in the United Kingdom, ranking between those of Liverpool and Sheffield. Eurostat's Larger Urban Zone listed the areas population at 825,600 as of 2004. When it fell under the rule of a Saxon chieftain named Snot it became known as "Snotingaham"; the homestead of Snot's people (Inga = the people of; Ham = homestead). Snot brought together his people in an area now known as the Lace Market.
