Thai Courses for Business in Dover

All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Thai Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Thai speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience. Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Thai teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Thai teacher before they commence their Thai lessons.

The way that modern languages are taught has gone through a revolution in the past few years. If you have only learned languages at school you will find that the experience now is vastly more fun and worthwhile. The Communicative Approach means that your Thai lessons in Dover will be almost entirely through the medium of Thai. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in Thai with confidence, in a range of social and business environments.

The Thai courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Thai training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. If you require faster progress, 1:1 Thai courses at Dover are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths.

Thai Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Thai language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Thai language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

SIMON & SIMON Thai language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Thai language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Thai courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Thai training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Thai courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Dover Thai Course Schedules

We run our Thai language courses in Dover all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Thai courses on request. Our Thai programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Thai language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Thai course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Thai and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Thai skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Thai and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Thai for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Thai language trainers will tailor your Thai course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Thai Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Thai examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Thai teachers in Dover whose experience is above average. SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Thai examination, administer the examination and issue you your results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Thai Courses Dover

Thai is the national and official language of Thailand and the native language of the Thai people, Thailand's dominant ethnic group. Thai is a member of the Tai group of the Tai-Kadai language family. Historical linguists have been unable to definitively link the Tai-Kadai languages to any other language family. Some words in Thai are borrowed from Pali, Sanskrit and Old Khmer. It is a tonal and analytic language. Thai also has a complex orthography and relational markers. Thai is mutually intelligible with Lao, whereas the Isaan dialect is almost the same as Lao.

Dover is a town and major ferry port in the home county of Kent, in South East England. It faces France across the narrowest part of the English Channel, and lies south-east of Canterbury; east of Kent's administrative capital Maidstone; and north-east along the coastline from Dungeness and Hastings. The town is the administrative centre of the Dover District and home of the Dover Calais ferry through the Port of Dover. The surrounding chalk cliffs have become known as the White cliffs of Dover, and the narrow sea passage nearby – the Strait of Dover. Its strategic position has always been evident throughout its history: archaeological finds have revealed that the area has always been a focus for peoples entering and leaving Britain. The River Dour originated the name of the town, which has been inhabited since the Stone Age according to archeological finds, and Dover is one of only a few places in Britain – London, Cornwall and Canterbury being other examples – to have a corresponding name in the French language, Douvres. Services related to the Port of Dover provide a great deal of the town’s employment, as does tourism, although many of the former ferry services have declined. There was a military barracks in Dover, which was closed in 2007.
