Thai Courses for Business in DevonPlease click a title below for further information: Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Thai courses, taught by a team of qualified native Thai speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience.
The feedback on our Thai tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Thai course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Thai teacher’s experience and background. Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding.
The Communicative Approach, where your Thai teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Thai means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Thai in a social or business setting will be no problem. Our Thai language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Thai training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful.
Those learning Thai in at Devon on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses. Thai Course ManagementEvery SIMON & SIMON Thai language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual.
At the start of your Thai language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources. We have a global network of language trainers so our Thai language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Thai language courses for clients in many diverse locations.
Thai language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel.

Devon Thai Course SchedulesWe run our Thai language courses in Devon all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly.
We also arrange weekend Thai courses on request. Our Thai programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
Intensive 30 hour per week Thai language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday. Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Thai course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Thai and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on.
You may desire simply to gain everyday Thai skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Thai and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing.
You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Thai for use in negotiations and meetings.
Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Thai language trainers will tailor your Thai course so that your goals will be met quickly. Thai Language Examination CoursesIf you are taking a Thai examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Thai teachers in Devon whose experience is above average.
SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Thai examination, administer the examination and issue you your results. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Thai Courses Devon Thai is the national and official language of Thailand and the native language of the Thai people, Thailand's dominant ethnic group. Thai is a member of the Tai group of the Tai-Kadai language family. Historical linguists have been unable to definitively link the Tai-Kadai languages to any other language family. Some words in Thai are borrowed from Pali, Sanskrit and Old Khmer. It is a tonal and analytic language. Thai also has a complex orthography and relational markers. Thai is mutually intelligible with Lao, whereas the Isaan dialect is almost the same as Lao. Devon is a large county in southwestern England. The county is sometimes referred to as Devonshire, although the term is rarely used inside the county itself and often indicates a traditional or historical context, such as The Devonshire Association, which was formed in 1862.
The county shares borders with Cornwall to the west and Dorset and Somerset to the east. Its southern coast abuts the English Channel and its northern coast the Bristol Channel. The name "Devon" derives from the kingdom of Dumnonia, which was home to the tribe of Celtic people who inhabited this area of the southwestern peninsula of Britain at the time of the Roman invasion in AD 43, Dumnonii―possibly meaning 'Deep Valley Dwellers' or 'Worshippers of the god Dumnonos'.
Devon is the fourth largest of the English counties and has a population of 1,141,600. The county town is the cathedral city of Exeter and the county contains two independent unitary authorities: the port city of Plymouth and the Torbay conurbation of seaside resorts, in addition to Devon County Council itself. Plymouth is also the largest city in Devon. Much of the county is rural (including national park) land, with a low population density by British standards. It contains Dartmoor 954 km2 (368 square miles), the largest open space in southern England.
The county is home to part of England's only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dorset and East Devon Coast, known as the Jurassic Coast for its geology and geographical features.
