If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile. Your Thai teacher in Cheshire will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Thai. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Thai.

Thai courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Thai courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. Thai Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Thai language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Thai course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

With a global network of language trainers a Thai language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Thai language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Cheshire Thai Course Schedules

The Thai language courses in Cheshire that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Thai courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Thai language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Thai language course we will assess your level of Thai and speak to you about your aims so that your Thai language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Thai before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Thai when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Thai in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Thai language trainers will tailor your Thai course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Thai Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Thai examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Thai teachers in Cheshire. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Thai examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Thai is the national and official language of Thailand and the native language of the Thai people, Thailand's dominant ethnic group. Thai is a member of the Tai group of the Tai-Kadai language family. Historical linguists have been unable to definitively link the Tai-Kadai languages to any other language family. Some words in Thai are borrowed from Pali, Sanskrit and Old Khmer. It is a tonal and analytic language. Thai also has a complex orthography and relational markers. Thai is mutually intelligible with Lao, whereas the Isaan dialect is almost the same as Lao.

Cheshire also known, archaically, as the County of Chester) is a ceremonial county and former principality in North West England. The traditional county town is the city of Chester, although Cheshire's largest town is Warrington. Other major towns include Congleton, Crewe, Ellesmere Port, Widnes, Runcorn, Macclesfield, Winsford, Northwich, and Wilmslow.
