Thai Courses for Business in Cambridgeshire

Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Thai Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Thai speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Thai teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Thai teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Thai lessons start.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Thai teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Thai means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Thai in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Thai courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Thai courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning Thai in Cambridgeshire on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress.

Thai Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Thai language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Thai course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Thai language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Thai language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Thai language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. For a list of the locations of the full-time residential Thai language courses that we offer, contact our office.

Cambridgeshire Thai Course Schedules

Our Thai language courses in Cambridgeshire run throughout the year. The majority of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week and many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments. Our Thai teachers are available Monday - Friday from 8am - 8pm, and Weekend Courses can also be arranged on request. Our intensive Thai language courses run for 30 hours per week, (6 hours per day Monday - Friday), and take place on our clients' premises or at a residential centre here in the UK or abroad.

The content of your Thai language course will reflect your level and your particular objectives. We will assess your Thai language level before your course, and discuss with you in detail the subject areas you wish to focus on. You may be a complete beginner looking for day-to-day Thai survival language skills, or a more proficient Thai speaker needing to improve your fluency when discussing areas such as law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing, and administration. You may want to focus on improving your Thai for meetings, discussions and negotiations, or to concentrate on improving your listening comprehension, pronunciation and telephone skills. Whatever your needs, working with one of our highly experienced Thai language trainers you can be confident that the content of your Thai language course will be tailored just for you and that you will soon be meeting your objectives.

Thai Language Examination Courses

We can also help prepare you for Thai examinations of a business or general nature. We are proud to say our students have a 95% pass rate in language examinations, and their success further underlines the value we place on working with Thai teachers in Cambridgeshire with above average experience. As part of our service, SIMON & SIMON will also organise the registration and administration of Thai examinations and the issuing of result certificates.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Breaking the Language Barrier

Back to top of Thai Courses Cambridgeshire

Thai is the national and official language of Thailand and the native language of the Thai people, Thailand's dominant ethnic group. Thai is a member of the Tai group of the Tai-Kadai language family. Historical linguists have been unable to definitively link the Tai-Kadai languages to any other language family. Some words in Thai are borrowed from Pali, Sanskrit and Old Khmer. It is a tonal and analytic language. Thai also has a complex orthography and relational markers. Thai is mutually intelligible with Lao, whereas the Isaan dialect is almost the same as Lao.

Cambridgeshire is a former United Kingdom Parliamentary constituency. It was a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of England then of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1707 to 1800 and of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1885. It was represented by two Knights of the Shire until 1832, when the number of members was increased to three. It was divided between the constituencies of Chesterton, Newmarket and Wisbech in 1885. The parliamentary county was again reconstituted in 1918. In 1983, when the redistribution of seats took place on the basis of the expanded post-1974 Cambridgeshire, the constituency was divided between the new constituencies of North East Cambridgeshire (including a small part of Peterborough), South East Cambridgeshire and South West Cambridgeshire (including a minority of territory from the former Huntingdonshire). The historic county of Cambridgeshire. (Although Cambridgeshire contained the borough of Cambridge, which elected two MPs in its own right, this was not excluded from the county constituency, and owning property within the borough could confer a vote at the county election.
