Thai Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Thai language course. On starting your Thai course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you.

Thai language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Thai language course. We can arrange your Thai language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Brighton Thai Course Schedules

The Thai language courses in Brighton that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Thai courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Thai language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Thai language course we will assess your level of Thai and speak to you about your aims so that your Thai language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Thai before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Thai when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Thai in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Thai language trainers will tailor your Thai course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Thai Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Thai examinations. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Thai examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Thai is the national and official language of Thailand and the native language of the Thai people, Thailand's dominant ethnic group. Thai is a member of the Tai group of the Tai-Kadai language family. Historical linguists have been unable to definitively link the Tai-Kadai languages to any other language family. Some words in Thai are borrowed from Pali, Sanskrit and Old Khmer. It is a tonal and analytic language. Thai also has a complex orthography and relational markers. Thai is mutually intelligible with Lao, whereas the Isaan dialect is almost the same as Lao.
