Swedish Courses for Business in Suffolk

All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Swedish Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Swedish speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience. Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Swedish teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Swedish teacher before they commence their Swedish lessons.

New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is now approached. This training, with more fun and a more worthwhile experience means that it’s a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. When you start a Swedish course in Suffolk, you will make progress from the very first lesson, as almost everything will be done in Swedish. This is known as the Communicative Approach, and means that your confidence and ability will soon grow so that you can use Swedish to communicate in social and business settings.

Swedish courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Swedish courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning Swedish in Suffolk on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress.

Swedish Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Swedish language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Swedish language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Swedish language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Swedish language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Swedish language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. For a list of the locations of the full-time residential Swedish language courses that we offer, contact our office.

Suffolk Swedish Course Schedules

We run our Swedish language courses in Suffolk all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Swedish courses on request. Our Swedish programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Swedish language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Swedish course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Swedish and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Swedish skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Swedish and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Swedish for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Swedish language trainers will tailor your Swedish course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Swedish Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Swedish examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Swedish teachers in Suffolk whose experience is above average. SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Swedish examination, administer the examination and issue you your results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Swedish Courses Suffolk

Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, especially along its coast and on the Åland islands. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with Norwegian and to a lesser extent with Danish. Along with the other North Germanic languages, Swedish is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. It is currently the largest of the North Germanic languages by numbers of speakers.

Suffolk is a non-metropolitan county of historic origin in East Anglia, England. It has borders with Norfolk to the north, Cambridgeshire to the west and Essex to the south. The North Sea lies to the east. The county town is Ipswich; other important towns include Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds and Felixstowe, one of the largest container ports in Europe. The county is low-lying with few hills, and is largely wetland habitat and arable land with the wetlands of The Broads in the North. The Suffolk Coast and Heaths are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Suffolk was part of the kingdom of East Anglia which was settled by the Angles in the 5th century AD. Suffolk was divided into separate Quarter Sessions divisions. These were originally four in number, reduced to two in 1860, the eastern division being administered from Ipswich and the western from Bury St Edmunds. The two divisions were made separate administrative counties as East Suffolk and West Suffolk under the Local Government Act 1888, with Ipswich becoming a county borough. A few Essex parishes were also added to Suffolk: Ballingdon-with-Brundon, and parts of Haverhill and Kedington.
