Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Swedish Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Swedish teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Swedish tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Swedish Lessons.

If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience! Your teacher will conduct your Swedish lesson in Stoke-on-Trent almost entirely in Swedish - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Swedish in a variety of social and business situations.

Our Swedish courses are usually offered by our clients as 1:1 training for their employees. Group sessions, however, are also available and can be excellent value for money. Planning is required so that participants all meet at the same time each week, and we recommend that numbers are kept to 6 or less. 1:1 Swedish lessons at Stoke-on-Trent mean that you will have your individual needs, weaknesses and strengths catered for, so that your progress is quicker.

Swedish Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Swedish languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Swedish course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON Swedish language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Swedish language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Swedish courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Swedish training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Swedish courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Stoke-on-Trent Swedish Course Schedules

Our Swedish language courses in Stoke-on-Trent take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Swedish daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Swedish language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Swedish language course that you undertake will be customised for your Swedish level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Swedish level. You may have little or no experience of Swedish and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Swedish skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Swedish language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Swedish course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Swedish Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Swedish examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Swedish teachers in Stoke-on-Trent who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Swedish examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Swedish Courses Stoke-on-Trent

Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, especially along its coast and on the Åland islands. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with Norwegian and to a lesser extent with Danish. Along with the other North Germanic languages, Swedish is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. It is currently the largest of the North Germanic languages by numbers of speakers.

Stoke-on-Trent is a city in Staffordshire, England, which forms a linear conurbation almost 12 miles (19 km) long, with an area of 36 square miles (93 km2). Together with the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme Stoke forms The Potteries Urban Area. This, together with the rural Staffordshire Moorlands area, forms North Staffordshire, which in 2001, had a population of 457,165. The conurbation continues to be polycentric, having been formed by the federation of six originally separate towns and numerous villages in the early-20th century. The settlement from which the federated town (not a city until 1925) took its name was Stoke-upon-Trent, because this was where the administration (and chief mainline railway station) was located. After the union, Hanley emerged as the primary commercial centre in the city, despite the efforts of its rival, Burslem. The three other component towns are Tunstall, Longton, and Fenton. Stoke-on-Trent is considered to be the home of the pottery industry in England and is commonly known as The Potteries. Formerly a primarily industrial conurbation, it is now a centre for service industries and distribution centres.
