Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Swedish courses, taught by a team of qualified native Swedish speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience. The feedback on our Swedish tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Swedish course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Swedish teacher’s experience and background.

Maybe your only knowledge of studying languages is what you remember from school. Modern language teaching has recently changed to be much more entertaining and rewarding. Your Swedish lessons in Stafford will be carried out almost completely in Swedish. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Swedish to communicate in various business and social situations.

We offer Swedish courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Swedish training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money. Those who learn Swedish at Stafford on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Swedish Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Swedish language course. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you.

Full-time Swedish courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Stafford Swedish Course Schedules

Our Swedish language courses in Stafford run throughout the year. The majority of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week and many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments. Our Swedish teachers are available Monday - Friday from 8am - 8pm, and Weekend Courses can also be arranged on request. Our intensive Swedish language courses run for 30 hours per week, (6 hours per day Monday - Friday), and take place on our clients' premises or at a residential centre here in the UK or abroad.

The content of your Swedish language course will reflect your level and your particular objectives. We will assess your Swedish language level before your course, and discuss with you in detail the subject areas you wish to focus on. You may be a complete beginner looking for day-to-day Swedish survival language skills, or a more proficient Swedish speaker needing to improve your fluency when discussing areas such as law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing, and administration. You may want to focus on improving your Swedish for meetings, discussions and negotiations, or to concentrate on improving your listening comprehension, pronunciation and telephone skills. Whatever your needs, working with one of our highly experienced Swedish language trainers you can be confident that the content of your Swedish language course will be tailored just for you and that you will soon be meeting your objectives.

Swedish Language Examination Courses

We can also help prepare you for Swedish examinations of a business or general nature. We are proud to say our students have a 95% pass rate in language examinations, and their success further underlines the value we place on working with Swedish teachers in Stafford with above average experience. As part of our service, SIMON & SIMON will also organise the registration and administration of Swedish examinations and the issuing of result certificates.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Swedish Courses Stafford

Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, especially along its coast and on the Åland islands. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with Norwegian and to a lesser extent with Danish. Along with the other North Germanic languages, Swedish is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. It is currently the largest of the North Germanic languages by numbers of speakers.

Stafford is the county town of Staffordshire, in the West Midlands region of England. It lies approximately 16 miles (26 km) north of Wolverhampton and 18 miles (29 km) south of Stoke-on-Trent, adjacent to the M6 motorway Junction 13 to Junction 14. The population of Stafford was given in the 2001 census as 63,681, with that of the wider borough of Stafford as 122,000, making Stafford the fourth largest settlement in the Ceremonial county, after Stoke on Trent, Tamworth and Newcastle under Lyme. Stafford means 'ford' by a 'staithe' (landing place). The original settlement was on an island in the middle of the marshes of the River Sow, a tributary of the River Trent. There is still a large area of marshland northwest of the town, which has always been subject to flooding, such as in 1947, 2000 and 2007. It's thought Stafford was founded in about 700 AD by Mercian prince called Bertelin who, according to legend, established a hermitage on a secluded marshy island. The remains of a wooden preaching cross were discovered under the foundations of St Bertelin's Church in the centre of the town.
