We can arrange your Swedish language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Portsmouth Swedish Course Schedules

Our Swedish language courses in Portsmouth take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Swedish daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Swedish language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Swedish language course that you undertake will be customised for your Swedish level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Swedish level. You may have little or no experience of Swedish and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Swedish skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Swedish Language Examination Courses

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, especially along its coast and on the Åland islands. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with Norwegian and to a lesser extent with Danish.
