Many professionals in companies across the UK, as well as private individuals, have benefited from an Swedish Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. We have a terrific team of qualified native-speaker Swedish teachers, and with an average of 15 years' experience they will ensure you benefit from a course designed specifically around your needs, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced learner with more specialised requirements. We consistently receive excellent feedback on our Swedish tutors from our clients, and we send our students a profile on their Swedish tutor prior to their Swedish lessons commencing, with information on the tutor's background and experience.

If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience! Your teacher will conduct your Swedish lesson in Herefordshire almost entirely in Swedish - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Swedish in a variety of social and business situations.

We offer Swedish courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Swedish training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money. Those who learn Swedish at Herefordshire on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Swedish Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Swedish language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Swedish course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON Swedish language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Swedish language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Swedish courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Swedish training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Swedish courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Herefordshire Swedish Course Schedules

Our Swedish language courses in Herefordshire run throughout the year. The majority of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week and many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments. Our Swedish teachers are available Monday - Friday from 8am - 8pm, and Weekend Courses can also be arranged on request. Our intensive Swedish language courses run for 30 hours per week, (6 hours per day Monday - Friday), and take place on our clients' premises or at a residential centre here in the UK or abroad.

The content of your Swedish language course will reflect your level and your particular objectives. We will assess your Swedish language level before your course, and discuss with you in detail the subject areas you wish to focus on. You may be a complete beginner looking for day-to-day Swedish survival language skills, or a more proficient Swedish speaker needing to improve your fluency when discussing areas such as law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing, and administration. You may want to focus on improving your Swedish for meetings, discussions and negotiations, or to concentrate on improving your listening comprehension, pronunciation and telephone skills. Whatever your needs, working with one of our highly experienced Swedish language trainers you can be confident that the content of your Swedish language course will be tailored just for you and that you will soon be meeting your objectives.

Swedish Language Examination Courses

We can also help prepare you for Swedish examinations of a business or general nature. We are proud to say our students have a 95% pass rate in language examinations, and their success further underlines the value we place on working with Swedish teachers in Herefordshire with above average experience. As part of our service, SIMON & SIMON will also organise the registration and administration of Swedish examinations and the issuing of result certificates.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, especially along its coast and on the Åland islands. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with Norwegian and to a lesser extent with Danish. Along with the other North Germanic languages, Swedish is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. It is currently the largest of the North Germanic languages by numbers of speakers.

Herefordshire is a historic and ceremonial county in the West Midlands region of England. It also forms a unitary district known as the County of Herefordshire. It borders the English ceremonial counties of Shropshire to the north, Worcestershire to the east, Gloucestershire to the south-east, and the Welsh preserved counties of Gwent to the south-west and Powys to the west. Hereford is a cathedral city and is the county town; with a population of approximately 55,700 inhabitants it is also the largest settlement. The county is one of the most rural and sparsely populated in England, with a population density of 82/km² (212/sq mi). The land use is predominantly agricultural and the county is well known for its fruit and cider production, and the Hereford cattle breed. Herefordshire is one of the 39 historic counties of England. In 1974 it was merged with neighbouring Worcestershire to form the relatively short-lived Hereford and Worcester administrative county. Within this, Herefordshire was covered by the local government districts of South Herefordshire, Hereford, and part of Malvern Hills and Leominster districts. The current ceremonial county and unitary district have broadly the same borders as the pre-1974 historic county.
