Swedish Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Swedish language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Swedish language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. Essex Swedish Course Schedules

The Swedish language courses in Essex that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Swedish courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Swedish language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Swedish language course we will assess your level of Swedish and speak to you about your aims so that your Swedish language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Swedish before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Swedish when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Swedish in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Swedish language trainers will tailor your Swedish course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Swedish Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Swedish examinations. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Swedish examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, especially along its coast and on the Åland islands. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with Norwegian and to a lesser extent with Danish. Along with the other North Germanic languages, Swedish is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. It is currently the largest of the North Germanic languages by numbers of speakers.

Essex is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in the East region of England, and one of the home counties. It is located to the northeast of Greater London and is one of the most populous counties in England. Essex County Council is the principal local authority for much of the county, sharing functions with twelve district councils. The county town is Chelmsford. The southern Essex boroughs of Thurrock and Southend-on-Sea are governed separately as unitary authorities. It was established in antiquity and formed the eastern portion of the Kingdom of Essex.
