The vast majority of our Swedish lessons take place at our clients' offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Swedish lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient. Edinburgh Swedish Course Schedules

We run our Swedish language courses in Edinburgh all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Swedish courses on request. Our Swedish programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Swedish language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Swedish course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Swedish and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Swedish skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Swedish and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Swedish for use in negotiations and meetings. Swedish Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Swedish examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Swedish is a North Germanic language, spoken by approximately 10 million people, predominantly in Sweden and parts of Finland, especially along its coast and on the Åland islands. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with Norwegian and to a lesser extent with Danish. Along with the other North Germanic languages, Swedish is a descendant of Old Norse, the common language of the Germanic peoples living in Scandinavia during the Viking Era. It is currently the largest of the North Germanic languages by numbers of speakers.

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland, the second largest city in Scotland and the seventh-most populous in the United Kingdom.
