Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Spanish Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Spanish teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Spanish tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Spanish Lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Spanish teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Spanish means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Spanish in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Spanish courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Spanish courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning Spanish in Hertfordshire on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress.

Spanish Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Spanish language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Spanish language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

SIMON & SIMON has arranged Spanish language courses for clients in numerous locations, and with our global network of language trainers we can organise a Spanish language course for you wherever you are - in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond. The vast majority of our Spanish lessons take place at our clients' offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Spanish lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient. We can also arrange full-time residential Spanish language courses for you - just contact our office for information on available destinations.

Hertfordshire Spanish Course Schedules

Our Spanish language courses in Hertfordshire go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Spanish can be arranged on request. Our Spanish courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Spanish courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Spanish language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Spanish language course we will assess your goals and level of Spanish experience. Your desire to learn Spanish may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Spanish to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Spanish in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Spanish trainers experience and that your Spanish language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met.

Spanish Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Spanish examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Spanish teachers in Hertfordshire who have a higher level of experience than average. SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Spanish examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Spanish is a Romance language in the Ibero-Romance group that evolved from several languages and dialects in the central-north of Iberia during the 9th century and gradually spread with the expansion of the Kingdom of Castile into central and southern Iberia during the later Medieval period. In 1999, there were 358 million people speaking Spanish as a native language and a total of 417 million speakers worldwide. As of 2010 these figures are up to 400 and 500 million people respectively. Spanish is the second most natively spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese. Mexico contains the largest population of Spanish speakers. Spanish is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Hertfordshire is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in the East region of England. The county town is Hertford. The county is one of the Home Counties and lies inland, bordered by Greater London (to the south), Buckinghamshire (to the west), Bedfordshire (including the unitary authorities of Luton and Central Bedfordshire to the north), Cambridgeshire (to the north east) and Essex (to the east). Hertfordshire was originally the area assigned to a fortress constructed at Hertford under the rule of Edward the Elder in 913. The name Hertford is derived from the Anglo-Saxon heort ford, meaning deer crossing (of a watercourse). The name Hertfordshire first appears in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle in 1011. Deer feature prominently in many county emblems. There is evidence of human beings living in Hertfordshire since the Middle Stone Age. It was first farmed during the Neolithic period and permanent habitation appeared at the beginning of the Bronze Age. This was followed by tribes settling in the area during the Iron Age.
