Spanish Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Spanish languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Spanish course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

With a global network of language trainers a Spanish language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Spanish language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Cambridgeshire Spanish Course Schedules

Our Spanish language courses in Cambridgeshire take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Spanish daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Spanish language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Spanish language course that you undertake will be customised for your Spanish level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Spanish level. You may have little or no experience of Spanish and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Spanish skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Spanish language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Spanish course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Spanish Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Spanish examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Spanish teachers in Cambridgeshire who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Spanish examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Spanish is a Romance language in the Ibero-Romance group that evolved from several languages and dialects in the central-north of Iberia during the 9th century and gradually spread with the expansion of the Kingdom of Castile into central and southern Iberia during the later Medieval period. In 1999, there were 358 million people speaking Spanish as a native language and a total of 417 million speakers worldwide. As of 2010 these figures are up to 400 and 500 million people respectively. Spanish is the second most natively spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese. Mexico contains the largest population of Spanish speakers. Spanish is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Cambridgeshire is a former United Kingdom Parliamentary constituency. It was a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of England then of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1707 to 1800 and of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1885. It was represented by two Knights of the Shire until 1832, when the number of members was increased to three. It was divided between the constituencies of Chesterton, Newmarket and Wisbech in 1885. The parliamentary county was again reconstituted in 1918. In 1983, when the redistribution of seats took place on the basis of the expanded post-1974 Cambridgeshire, the constituency was divided between the new constituencies of North East Cambridgeshire (including a small part of Peterborough), South East Cambridgeshire and South West Cambridgeshire (including a minority of territory from the former Huntingdonshire).
