Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Slovak Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Slovak teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Slovak tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Slovak Lessons.

If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience! Your teacher will conduct your Slovak lesson in Stoke almost entirely in Slovak - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Slovak in a variety of social and business situations.

Slovak courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Slovak courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning Slovak in Stoke on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress.

Slovak Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Slovak languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Slovak course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

The Slovak language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Slovak language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Slovak lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Slovak lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Slovak language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Stoke Slovak Course Schedules

Our Slovak language courses in Stoke go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Slovak can be arranged on request. Our Slovak courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Slovak courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Slovak language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Slovak language course we will assess your goals and level of Slovak experience. Your desire to learn Slovak may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Slovak to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Slovak in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Slovak trainers experience and that your Slovak language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met.

Slovak Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Slovak examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Slovak teachers in Stoke who have a higher level of experience than average. SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Slovak examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Slovak Courses Stoke

Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic languages (together with Czech, Polish, Silesian, Kashubian, and Sorbian). Slovak is spoken in Slovakia (by 5 million people), also in the United States (1,200,000), the Czech Republic (350,000), Serbia (60,000), Ireland (30,000), Romania (22,000), Poland (20,000), Canada (20,000), Hungary (11,800), Croatia (5,000), Australia, Austria, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

Stoke means "hamlet", from the Anglo-Saxon. It formed part of the ancient Forest of Mondrum. Stoke is not mentioned by name in the Domesday survey; the name was first recorded in 1260. Barbridge is mentioned in John Leland's Itinerary from a visit of 1536. The civil parish was originally a township in the ancient parish of Acton in the Nantwich Hundred; it was served by St Mary's Church, Acton. The manor was given by Randal de Praers to his son, who assumed the name Stoke, and later passed to the Beeston and Aston families. By 1622, it was held by the Minshull family of Stoke Hall. The manor was held by the Wilbraham family from 1753 to 1781, and was then sold to the Craven family. During the Civil War, Stoke was occupied by royalist forces in December 1643, together with much of the surrounding area. In the 17th–19th centuries, the area appears to have had a substantial Quaker population; a graveyard at Stoke Grange Farm was given to the movement in 1657 and remained in use until the mid-19th century. During World War II, Stoke Manor provided accommodation for land girls.
