Slovak Courses for Business in Somerset

Please click a title below for further information:

Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Slovak courses, taught by a team of qualified native Slovak speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience. The feedback on our Slovak tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Slovak course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Slovak teacher’s experience and background.

If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile. Your Slovak teacher in Somerset will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Slovak. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Slovak.

The Slovak courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Slovak training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. If you require faster progress, 1:1 Slovak courses at Somerset are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths.

Slovak Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Slovak language course. On starting your Slovak course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you.

Slovak language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Slovak language course. We can arrange your Slovak language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Slovak language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Somerset Slovak Course Schedules

Our Slovak language courses in Somerset take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Slovak daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Slovak language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Slovak language course that you undertake will be customised for your Slovak level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Slovak level. You may have little or no experience of Slovak and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Slovak skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Slovak language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Slovak course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Slovak Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Slovak examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Slovak teachers in Somerset who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Slovak examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Slovak Courses Somerset

Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic languages (together with Czech, Polish, Silesian, Kashubian, and Sorbian). Slovak is spoken in Slovakia (by 5 million people), also in the United States (1,200,000), the Czech Republic (350,000), Serbia (60,000), Ireland (30,000), Romania (22,000), Poland (20,000), Canada (20,000), Hungary (11,800), Croatia (5,000), Australia, Austria, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

Somerset is a county in South West England. The county town of Somerset is Taunton, which is in the south of the county. The ceremonial county of Somerset borders the counties of Bristol and Gloucestershire to the north, Wiltshire to the east, Dorset to the south-east, and Devon to the south-west. It is partly bounded to the north and west by the coast of the Bristol Channel and the estuary of the River Severn. The traditional northern border of the county is the River Avon, but the administrative boundary has crept southwards, with the creation and expansion of the City of Bristol, and latterly the county of Avon and its successor Unitary Authorities in the north. Somerset is a rural county of rolling hills such as the Mendip Hills, Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park, and large flat expanses of land including the Somerset Levels. There is evidence of human occupation from Neolithic times, and subsequent settlement in the Roman and Saxon periods. Later, the county played a significant part in the consolidation of power and rise of King Alfred the Great, the English Civil War and the Monmouth Rebellion.
