Nottinghamshire Slovak Course Schedules

Our Slovak language courses in Nottinghamshire run throughout the year. The majority of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week and many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments. Our Slovak teachers are available Monday - Friday from 8am - 8pm, and Weekend Courses can also be arranged on request. Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic languages (together with Czech, Polish, Silesian, Kashubian, and Sorbian). Slovak is spoken in Slovakia (by 5 million people), also in the United States (1,200,000), the Czech Republic (350,000), Serbia (60,000), Ireland (30,000), Romania (22,000), Poland (20,000), Canada (20,000), Hungary (11,800), Croatia (5,000), Australia, Austria, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

Nottinghamshire is an English county in the East Midlands, which borders South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. The county town is traditionally Nottingham, though the council is now based in West Bridgford, a suburb of Greater Nottingham (at a site facing Nottingham City over the River Trent). The districts of Nottinghamshire are Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Broxtowe, Gedling, Mansfield, Newark and Sherwood, and Rushcliffe. The City of Nottingham was administratively part of Nottinghamshire between 1974 and 1998 but is now a unitary authority although it remains part of the historic and ceremonial county.
