Slovak Courses for Business in Newcastle

All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Slovak Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Slovak speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience. Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Slovak teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Slovak teacher before they commence their Slovak lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Slovak teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Slovak means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Slovak in a social or business setting will be no problem.

We offer Slovak courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Slovak training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money. Those who learn Slovak at Newcastle on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Slovak Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Slovak language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Slovak language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

Slovak language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Slovak language course. We can arrange your Slovak language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Slovak language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Newcastle Slovak Course Schedules

Our Slovak language courses in Newcastle go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Slovak can be arranged on request. Our Slovak courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Slovak courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Slovak language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Slovak language course we will assess your goals and level of Slovak experience. Your desire to learn Slovak may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Slovak to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Slovak in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Slovak trainers experience and that your Slovak language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met.

Slovak Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Slovak examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Slovak teachers in Newcastle who have a higher level of experience than average. SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Slovak examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic languages (together with Czech, Polish, Silesian, Kashubian, and Sorbian). Slovak is spoken in Slovakia (by 5 million people), also in the United States (1,200,000), the Czech Republic (350,000), Serbia (60,000), Ireland (30,000), Romania (22,000), Poland (20,000), Canada (20,000), Hungary (11,800), Croatia (5,000), Australia, Austria, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

Newcastle upon Tyne is a city and metropolitan borough of Tyne and Wear, in North East England. Situated on the north bank of the River Tyne, the city developed in the area that was the location of the Roman settlement called Pons Aelius, though it owes its name to the castle built in 1080, by Robert II, Duke of Normandy, the eldest son of William the Conqueror. The city grew as an important centre for the wool trade and it later became a major coal mining area. The port developed in the 16th century and, along with the shipyards lower down the river, was amongst the world's largest shipbuilding and ship-repairing centres. These industries have since experienced severe decline and closure, and the city today is largely a business and cultural centre, with a particular reputation for nightlife. Like most cities, Newcastle has a diverse cross section, from areas of poverty to areas of affluence. Among its main icons are Newcastle Brown Ale, a leading brand of beer, Newcastle United F.C., a Premier League team, and the Tyne Bridge. It has hosted the world's most popular half marathon, the Great North Run, since it began in 1981. The city is the twentieth most populous urban area in England; the larger Tyneside conurbation, of which Newcastle forms part, is the sixth most populous conurbation in the United Kingdom. Newcastle is a member of the English Core Cities Group and with Gateshead the Eurocities network of European cities.
