Slovak Courses for Business in Lancashire

All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Slovak Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Slovak speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience. Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Slovak teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Slovak teacher before they commence their Slovak lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Slovak teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Slovak means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Slovak in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Our Slovak language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Slovak training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Slovak in at Lancashire on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Slovak Course Management

SIMON & SIMON’s Slovak language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual. At the start of your Slovak course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will send you our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, which contains a wonderful prize draw as well as weblinks to valuable language learning resources.

Slovak language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Slovak language course. We can arrange your Slovak language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Slovak language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Lancashire Slovak Course Schedules

Our Slovak language courses in Lancashire take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Slovak daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Slovak language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Slovak language course that you undertake will be customised for your Slovak level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Slovak level. You may have little or no experience of Slovak and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Slovak skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Slovak language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Slovak course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Slovak Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Slovak examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Slovak teachers in Lancashire who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Slovak examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Breaking the Language Barrier

Back to top of Slovak Courses Lancashire

Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic languages (together with Czech, Polish, Silesian, Kashubian, and Sorbian). Slovak is spoken in Slovakia (by 5 million people), also in the United States (1,200,000), the Czech Republic (350,000), Serbia (60,000), Ireland (30,000), Romania (22,000), Poland (20,000), Canada (20,000), Hungary (11,800), Croatia (5,000), Australia, Austria, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

Lancashire was a county constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of England then of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1707 to 1800 and of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1832. It was represented by two Members of Parliament until 1832. The constituency was split into two two-member divisions, for Parliamentary purposes, in 1832. The county was then represented by the North Lancashire and South Lancashire constituencies : the latter representing the hundreds of Salford and West Derby, and the former the hundreds of Amounderness, Blackburn, Leyland and Lonsdale. The constituency comprised the whole historic county of Lancashire, except for the Parliamentary boroughs of Clitheroe, Lancaster, Liverpool, Newton, Preston and Wigan. The county franchise, from 1430, was held by the adult male owners of freehold land valued at 40 shillings or more. Each elector had as many votes as there were seats to be filled. Votes had to be cast by a spoken declaration, in public, at the hustings, which took place in the county town of Lancaster. The expense and difficulty of voting at only one location in the county, together with the lack of a secret ballot contributed to the corruption and intimidation of electors, which was widespread in the unreformed British political system.
