SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified native Slovak speaking teachers average 15 years of experience. Professionals and private individuals from all over the UK have benefited from SIMON & SIMON’s Slovak language courses, all of which are tailor-made to reflect each student's level of experience. We consistently receive outstanding feedback from our clients about our Slovak tutors. Each student is sent a specific profile on the experience and background of their Slovak tutor before they start their course of lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Slovak teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Slovak means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Slovak in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Our Slovak language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Slovak training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Slovak in at Gloucestershire on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Slovak Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Slovak language course. On starting your Slovak course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you.

SIMON & SIMON Slovak language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Slovak language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Slovak courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Slovak training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Slovak courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Gloucestershire Slovak Course Schedules

The Slovak language courses in Gloucestershire that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Slovak courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Slovak language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Slovak language course we will assess your level of Slovak and speak to you about your aims so that your Slovak language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Slovak before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Slovak when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Slovak in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Slovak language trainers will tailor your Slovak course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Slovak Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Slovak examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Slovak teachers in Gloucestershire. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Slovak examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic languages (together with Czech, Polish, Silesian, Kashubian, and Sorbian). Slovak is spoken in Slovakia (by 5 million people), also in the United States (1,200,000), the Czech Republic (350,000), Serbia (60,000), Ireland (30,000), Romania (22,000), Poland (20,000), Canada (20,000), Hungary (11,800), Croatia (5,000), Australia, Austria, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

Gloucestershire is a county in South West England. The county comprises part of the Cotswold Hills, part of the flat fertile valley of the River Severn, and the entire Forest of Dean. The county town is the city of Gloucester, and other principal towns include Cheltenham, Cirencester, Stroud, and Tewkesbury. When considered as a ceremonial county, Gloucestershire borders the preserved county of Gwent in Wales (now Monmouthshire), and in England the ceremonial counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Somerset and Bristol. Ceremonially, it includes the area covered by the South Gloucestershire unitary authority. According to a 2002 campaign by the charity Plantlife, the county flower of Gloucestershire is the Wild Daffodil. Gloucestershire is a historic county mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle in the 10th century, though the areas of Winchcombe and the Forest of Dean were not added until the late 11th century. Gloucestershire originally included the "small town" of Bristol. The "local" rural community moved to the port city, (as Bristol was to become) and Bristol's population growth accelerated during the industrial revolution. Bristol became part of the administrative County of Avon in 1974.
