We consistently receive outstanding feedback from our clients about our Slovak tutors. Each student is sent a specific profile on the experience and background of their Slovak tutor before they start their course of lessons. The way that modern languages are taught has gone through a revolution in the past few years. If you have only learned languages at school you will find that the experience now is vastly more fun and worthwhile.
The Communicative Approach means that your Slovak lessons in Berkshire will be almost entirely through the medium of Slovak. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in Slovak with confidence, in a range of social and business environments. The Slovak courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Slovak training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week.
If you require faster progress, 1:1 Slovak courses at Berkshire are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths. Slovak Course ManagementEach of SIMON & SIMON’s Slovak languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager.
When you start your Slovak course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources. SIMON & SIMON has arranged Slovak language courses for clients in numerous locations, and with our global network of language trainers we can organise a Slovak language course for you wherever you are - in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond.
The vast majority of our Slovak lessons take place at our clients' offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Slovak lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient.
We can also arrange full-time residential Slovak language courses for you - just contact our office for information on available destinations. Berkshire Slovak Course SchedulesWe run Slovak language courses in Berkshire all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow.
Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Slovak weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm.
Intensive Slovak language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week. Your Slovak language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Slovak language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in.
Students may be complete novices who need everyday Slovak conversational skills or have more proficiency in Slovak and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently.
Students may desire to bolster their Slovak for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills.
No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Slovak language trainers will work with you on a Slovak language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals. Slovak Language Examination CoursesSlovak examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Slovak teachers in Berkshire with experience above the average.
SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Slovak examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Slovak Courses Berkshire Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic languages (together with Czech, Polish, Silesian, Kashubian, and Sorbian). Slovak is spoken in Slovakia (by 5 million people), also in the United States (1,200,000), the Czech Republic (350,000), Serbia (60,000), Ireland (30,000), Romania (22,000), Poland (20,000), Canada (20,000), Hungary (11,800), Croatia (5,000), Australia, Austria, Bulgaria and Ukraine. Berkshire is a historic county in the South East of England. It is also often referred to as the Royal County of Berkshire because of the presence of the royal residence of Windsor Castle in the county; this usage, which dates to the 19th century at least, was recognised by the Queen in 1958, and letters patent issued confirming this in 1974.
Berkshire borders the counties of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Wiltshire and Hampshire, and is usually regarded as one of the home counties. Under boundary changes in 1995, it also acquired a boundary with Greater London.
Historically the county town was Abingdon, but in 1867 the town of Reading – by then much larger – superseded Abingdon in this role. In 1974 local government reorganisation moved Abingdon and several other north-west Berkshire towns into Oxfordshire. A later reorganisation, in 1998, abolished Berkshire County Council, although retaining Berkshire as a ceremonial county. The highest tier of local government in Berkshire are now the unitary authorities of Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham.
