Your Serbian lessons in Sunderland will be carried out almost completely in Serbian. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Serbian to communicate in various business and social situations. The Serbian courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Serbian training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week.
If you require faster progress, 1:1 Serbian courses at Sunderland are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths. Serbian Course ManagementA multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Serbian language course.
A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Serbian course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks. Sunderland Serbian Course SchedulesOur Serbian language courses in Sunderland take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week.
If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Serbian daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday.
We also provide Intensive Serbian language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday. The Serbian language course that you undertake will be customised for your Serbian level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Serbian level.
You may have little or no experience of Serbian and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business.
You may want to raise your Serbian skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills.
Whatever your objectives, our Serbian language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Serbian course will help you to meet your goals quickly. Serbian Language Examination CoursesSIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Serbian examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Serbian teachers in Sunderland who possess above average experience.
Registration for and administration of Serbian examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Serbian Courses Sunderland Serbian is a form of Serbo-Croatian spoken by Serbs in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and neighbouring countries. There are two principal Serbian dialects, Shtokavian and Torlakian. The literary and standard language is based on Shtokavian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Serbian is standardized around Sumadija-Vojvodina and Eastern Herzegovinian subdialects of Shtokavian. Apart from Shtokavian, the Torlak dialect, transitional to Macedonian and Bulgarian, is spoken in southeast Serbia. The City of Sunderland is a local government district of Tyne and Wear, in North East England, with the status of a city and metropolitan borough. It is named after its largest settlement, Sunderland, but covers a far larger area which includes the towns of Hetton-le-Hole, Houghton-le-Spring, Washington, and a range of suburban villages.
The district was formed in 1974 as the Metropolitan Borough of Sunderland as part of the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972 and is an amalgamation of four former local government districts of County Durham. It was granted city status in 1992, the 40th anniversary of the Queen Elizabeth II's accession. The city had a population of 280,807 at the time of the 2001 census, with the majority of the population (177,739) residing in Sunderland.
The metropolitan borough was formed in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972 by the merger of several districts of County Durham - Washington Urban District, Houghton-le-Spring Urban District and Hetton Urban District - with the County Borough of Sunderland.
The metropolitan borough was granted city status in 1992, the 40th anniversary of the Queen's accession. At the Queen's Golden Jubilee the city petitioned to be allowed a Lord Mayor, but was unsuccessful. Although the city does not have a Cathedral, as it is located in the Diocese of Durham, it does have Sunderland Minster.
