Your teacher will conduct your Serbian lesson in London almost entirely in Serbian - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Serbian in a variety of social and business situations.

The Serbian courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Serbian training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. Serbian Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Serbian language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Serbian course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Serbian language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Serbian language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Serbian language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. London Serbian Course Schedules

Our Serbian language courses in London take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Serbian daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Serbian language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Serbian language course that you undertake will be customised for your Serbian level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Serbian level. You may have little or no experience of Serbian and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Serbian skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Serbian language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Serbian course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Serbian Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Serbian examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Serbian teachers in London who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Serbian examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Serbian is a form of Serbo-Croatian spoken by Serbs in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and neighbouring countries. There are two principal Serbian dialects, Shtokavian and Torlakian. The literary and standard language is based on Shtokavian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Serbian is standardized around Sumadija-Vojvodina and Eastern Herzegovinian subdialects of Shtokavian. Apart from Shtokavian, the Torlak dialect, transitional to Macedonian and Bulgarian, is spoken in southeast Serbia.
