Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Serbian Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Serbian teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Serbian tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Serbian Lessons.

The way that modern languages are taught has gone through a revolution in the past few years. If you have only learned languages at school you will find that the experience now is vastly more fun and worthwhile. The Communicative Approach means that your Serbian lessons in Lincoln will be almost entirely through the medium of Serbian. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in Serbian with confidence, in a range of social and business environments.

Our Serbian language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Serbian training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Serbian in at Lincoln on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Serbian Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Serbian language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Serbian course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

Serbian language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Serbian language course. We can arrange your Serbian language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Serbian language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Lincoln Serbian Course Schedules

We run Serbian language courses in Lincoln all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Serbian weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Serbian language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Serbian language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Serbian language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Serbian conversational skills or have more proficiency in Serbian and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Serbian for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Serbian language trainers will work with you on a Serbian language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Serbian Language Examination Courses

Serbian examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Serbian teachers in Lincoln with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Serbian examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Serbian Courses Lincoln

Serbian is a form of Serbo-Croatian spoken by Serbs in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and neighbouring countries. There are two principal Serbian dialects, Shtokavian and Torlakian. The literary and standard language is based on Shtokavian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Serbian is standardized around Sumadija-Vojvodina and Eastern Herzegovinian subdialects of Shtokavian. Apart from Shtokavian, the Torlak dialect, transitional to Macedonian and Bulgarian, is spoken in southeast Serbia.

Lincoln is a cathedral city and county town of Lincolnshire, England. The non-metropolitan district of Lincoln has a population of 85,595; the 2001 census gave the entire urban area of Lincoln a population of 120,779. The council identifies a 'Greater Lincoln' catchment area covering surrounding villages and towns, which has a population of 250,000. It has several twin towns: Port Lincoln, South Australia; Radomsko, Poland; Tangshan, China; and Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany. The earliest origins of Lincoln can be traced to the remains of an Iron Age settlement of round wooden dwellings (which were discovered by archaeologists in 1972) that have been dated to the 1st century BC. This settlement was built by a deep pool (the modern Brayford Pool) in the River Witham at the foot of a large hill (on which the Normans later built Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle). The origins of the name Lincoln may come from this period, when the settlement is thought to have been named in the Brythonic language of Iron Age Britain's Celtic inhabitants as Lindon "The Pool", presumably referring to the Brayford Pool (compare the etymology of the name Dublin, from the Gaelic "dubh linn" ("black pool"). It is not possible to know how big this original settlement was as its remains are now buried deep beneath the later Roman and medieval ruins, as well as the modern city of Lincoln.
