The Communicative Approach means that your Serbian lessons in Greater Manchester will be almost entirely through the medium of Serbian. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in Serbian with confidence, in a range of social and business environments. We offer Serbian courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Serbian training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money.
Those who learn Serbian at Greater Manchester on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses. Serbian Course ManagementSIMON & SIMON’s Serbian language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual.
At the start of your Serbian course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will send you our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, which contains a wonderful prize draw as well as weblinks to valuable language learning resources. We also provide Intensive Serbian language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Serbian level.
You may have little or no experience of Serbian and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business.
You may want to raise your Serbian skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills.
Whatever your objectives, our Serbian language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Serbian course will help you to meet your goals quickly. Serbian Language Examination CoursesSIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Serbian examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. Registration for and administration of Serbian examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Serbian Courses Greater Manchester Serbian is a form of Serbo-Croatian spoken by Serbs in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and neighbouring countries. There are two principal Serbian dialects, Shtokavian and Torlakian. The literary and standard language is based on Shtokavian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Serbian is standardized around Sumadija-Vojvodina and Eastern Herzegovinian subdialects of Shtokavian. Apart from Shtokavian, the Torlak dialect, transitional to Macedonian and Bulgarian, is spoken in southeast Serbia. Greater Manchester is a metropolitan county in North West England, with a population of 2.6 million. It encompasses one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United Kingdom and comprises ten metropolitan boroughs: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan, and the cities of Manchester and Salford. Greater Manchester was created on 1 April 1974 as a result of the Local Government Act 1972.
Greater Manchester spans 496 square miles (1,285 km2). It is landlocked and borders Cheshire (to the south-west and south), Derbyshire (to the south-east), West Yorkshire (to the north-east), Lancashire (to the north) and Merseyside (to the west). There is a mix of high density urban areas, suburbs, semi-rural and rural locations in Greater Manchester, but overwhelmingly the land use is urban. It has a focused central business district, formed by Manchester city centre and the adjoining parts of Salford and Trafford, but Greater Manchester is also a polycentric county with ten metropolitan districts, each of which has at least one major town centre and outlying suburbs. The Greater Manchester Urban Area is the third most populous conurbation in the UK, and spans across most of the county's territory.
For the 12 years following 1974 the county had a two-tier system of local government; district councils shared power with the Greater Manchester County Council.
