Courses cater for all levels of experience.
The feedback on our Serbian tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Serbian course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Serbian teacher’s experience and background. If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience!
Your teacher will conduct your Serbian lesson in Colchester almost entirely in Serbian - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Serbian in a variety of social and business situations. Serbian courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Serbian courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group.
As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning Serbian in Colchester on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress. Serbian Course ManagementOne of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Serbian language course.
On starting your Serbian course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you. SIMON & SIMON’s Serbian language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Serbian language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere.
We can arrange Serbian language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel.
Full-time residential Serbian language courses are also an option. For a list of locations, please contact our office.
Colchester Serbian Course SchedulesWe run Serbian language courses in Colchester all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow.
Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Serbian weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm.
Intensive Serbian language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week. Your Serbian language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Serbian language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in.
Students may be complete novices who need everyday Serbian conversational skills or have more proficiency in Serbian and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently.
Students may desire to bolster their Serbian for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills.
No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Serbian language trainers will work with you on a Serbian language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals. Serbian Language Examination CoursesSerbian examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Serbian teachers in Colchester with experience above the average.
SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Serbian examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Serbian Courses Colchester Serbian is a form of Serbo-Croatian spoken by Serbs in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and neighbouring countries. There are two principal Serbian dialects, Shtokavian and Torlakian. The literary and standard language is based on Shtokavian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Serbian is standardized around Sumadija-Vojvodina and Eastern Herzegovinian subdialects of Shtokavian. Apart from Shtokavian, the Torlak dialect, transitional to Macedonian and Bulgarian, is spoken in southeast Serbia. Colchester is an historical town and the largest settlement within the borough of Colchester in Essex, England.
At the time of the census in 2001 it had a population of 104,390. However, the population is rapidly increasing, and has been named as one of Britain's fastest growing towns. As the oldest recorded Roman town in Britain, Colchester claims to be the oldest town in Britain. It was for a time the capital of Roman Britain and also claims to have the United Kingdom's oldest recorded market.
Colchester is 60 miles (97 km) northeast of London. It is connected to the capital by the A12 road and the Great Eastern Main Line. It is seen as a popular town for commuters, and is less than 30 miles away from Stansted Airport.
Colchester is home to the University of Essex, Colchester Zoo, Colchester Castle and Colchester United Football Club. It has a Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament.
