Serbian Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Serbian languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Serbian course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

With a global network of language trainers a Serbian language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Serbian language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Cambridge Serbian Course Schedules

Our Serbian language courses in Cambridge take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Serbian daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Serbian language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Serbian language course that you undertake will be customised for your Serbian level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Serbian level. You may have little or no experience of Serbian and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Serbian skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Serbian language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Serbian course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Serbian Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Serbian examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Serbian teachers in Cambridge who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Serbian examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Serbian is a form of Serbo-Croatian spoken by Serbs in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and neighbouring countries. There are two principal Serbian dialects, Shtokavian and Torlakian. The literary and standard language is based on Shtokavian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Serbian is standardized around Sumadija-Vojvodina and Eastern Herzegovinian subdialects of Shtokavian. Apart from Shtokavian, the Torlak dialect, transitional to Macedonian and Bulgarian, is spoken in southeast Serbia.

The city of Cambridge is a university town and the administrative centre of the county of Cambridgeshire, England. It lies in East Anglia about 50 miles (80 km) north-by-east of London. Cambridge is at the heart of the high-technology centre known as Silicon Fen – a play on Silicon Valley and the fens surrounding the city.
