Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Serbian Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Serbian teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Serbian tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Serbian Lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Serbian teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Serbian means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Serbian in a social or business setting will be no problem.

We offer Serbian courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Serbian training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money. Those who learn Serbian at Bedford on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Serbian Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Serbian language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Serbian course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

SIMON & SIMON’s Serbian language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Serbian language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Serbian language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Full-time residential Serbian language courses are also an option. For a list of locations, please contact our office.

Bedford Serbian Course Schedules

The Serbian language courses in Bedford that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Serbian courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Serbian language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Serbian language course we will assess your level of Serbian and speak to you about your aims so that your Serbian language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Serbian before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Serbian when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Serbian in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Serbian language trainers will tailor your Serbian course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Serbian Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Serbian examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Serbian teachers in Bedford. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Serbian examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Serbian Courses Bedford

Serbian is a form of Serbo-Croatian spoken by Serbs in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and neighbouring countries. There are two principal Serbian dialects, Shtokavian and Torlakian. The literary and standard language is based on Shtokavian, which is also the basis of Standard Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Serbian is standardized around Sumadija-Vojvodina and Eastern Herzegovinian subdialects of Shtokavian. Apart from Shtokavian, the Torlak dialect, transitional to Macedonian and Bulgarian, is spoken in southeast Serbia.

Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire, in the East of England. It is a large town and the administrative centre for the wider Borough of Bedford. According to Bedfordshire County Council's estimates, the town had a population of 79,190 in mid 2005, with 19,720 in the adjacent town of Kempston. The wider borough, including a rural area, had a population of 153,000. Bedford was a market town for the surrounding agricultural region from the early Middle Ages The Anglo-Saxon King Offa of Mercia was buried in the town in 796.In 886 it became a boundary town separating Wessex and Danelaw. It was the seat of the Barony of Bedford. In 919 Edward the Elder built the town's first known fortress, on the south side of the River Ouse and there received the area's submission. This fortress was destroyed by the Danes. William II gave the barony of Bedford to Paine de Beauchamp who built a new, strong castle. The new Bedford Castle was razed in 1224 and today only a mound remains. Bedford traces its borough charter in 1166 by Henry II and elected two members to the unreformed House of Commons. Bedford remained a small agricultural town, with wool being an important industry in the area for much of the Middle Ages From the 1560s Bedford and much of Bedfordshire became one of the main centres of England's Lace industry.
