Russian Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Russian language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Russian course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Russian language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Russian language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Russian language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Warwickshire Russian Course Schedules

Our Russian language courses in Warwickshire go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Russian can be arranged on request. Our Russian courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Russian courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Russian language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Russian language course we will assess your goals and level of Russian experience. Your desire to learn Russian may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Russian to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Russian in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. Russian Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Russian examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Russian teachers in Warwickshire who have a higher level of experience than average. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR. It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Warwickshire is a landlocked non-metropolitan county in the West Midlands region of England. The county town is Warwick, although the largest town is Nuneaton in the far north of the county. The shape of the administrative area Warwickshire differs considerably from that of the historic county. Commonly used abbreviations for the county are Warks or Warwicks. Warwickshire is perhaps best known for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare from Stratford-upon-Avon. Even today, road signs at the county boundary describe Warwickshire as "Shakespeare's County". The county has also produced other literary figures such as George Eliot (from Nuneaton), Rupert Brooke (from Rugby), and Michael Drayton from Hartshill. The poet Philip Larkin lived in Warwick (born in nearby Coventry), and Elizabeth Gaskell went to school in Barford and Stratford. Warwickshire is bounded to the north-west by the West Midlands metropolitan county and Staffordshire, by Leicestershire to the north-east, Northamptonshire to the east, Worcestershire to the west, Oxfordshire to the south and Gloucestershire to the south-west. The northern tip of the county is only 5 km (3 miles) from the Derbyshire border. An average-sized English county covering an area of almost 2,000 km2, it runs some 96 km (60 mi) north to south.
