Russian Course Management

SIMON & SIMON’s Russian language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual. At the start of your Russian course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Russian language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Suffolk Russian Course Schedules

The Russian language courses in Suffolk that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Russian courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Russian language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Russian language course we will assess your level of Russian and speak to you about your aims so that your Russian language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Russian before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Russian when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Russian in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Russian language trainers will tailor your Russian course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Russian Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Russian examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Russian teachers in Suffolk. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Russian examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR. It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Suffolk is a non-metropolitan county of historic origin in East Anglia, England. It has borders with Norfolk to the north, Cambridgeshire to the west and Essex to the south. The North Sea lies to the east. The county town is Ipswich; other important towns include Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds and Felixstowe, one of the largest container ports in Europe. The county is low-lying with few hills, and is largely wetland habitat and arable land with the wetlands of The Broads in the North. The Suffolk Coast and Heaths are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Suffolk was part of the kingdom of East Anglia which was settled by the Angles in the 5th century AD. Suffolk was divided into separate Quarter Sessions divisions. These were originally four in number, reduced to two in 1860, the eastern division being administered from Ipswich and the western from Bury St Edmunds. The two divisions were made separate administrative counties as East Suffolk and West Suffolk under the Local Government Act 1888, with Ipswich becoming a county borough. A few Essex parishes were also added to Suffolk: Ballingdon-with-Brundon, and parts of Haverhill and Kedington.
