Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Russian Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Russian teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Russian tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Russian Lessons.

If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience! Your teacher will conduct your Russian lesson in Oxfordshire almost entirely in Russian - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Russian in a variety of social and business situations.

Our Russian language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Russian training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Russian in at Oxfordshire on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Russian Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Russian language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Russian course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

SIMON & SIMON has arranged Russian language courses for clients in numerous locations, and with our global network of language trainers we can organise a Russian language course for you wherever you are - in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond. The vast majority of our Russian lessons take place at our clients' offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Russian lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient. We can also arrange full-time residential Russian language courses for you - just contact our office for information on available destinations.

Oxfordshire Russian Course Schedules

Our Russian language courses in Oxfordshire go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Russian can be arranged on request. Our Russian courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Russian courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Russian language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Russian language course we will assess your goals and level of Russian experience. Your desire to learn Russian may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Russian to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Russian in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Russian trainers experience and that your Russian language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met.

Russian Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Russian examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Russian teachers in Oxfordshire who have a higher level of experience than average. SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Russian examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR. It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Oxfordshire is a county in the South East region of England, bordering on Warwickshire, Northamptonshire (to the north/northeast), Buckinghamshire (to the east), Berkshire (to the south), Wiltshire and Swindon (to the southwest), Gloucestershire (to the west) and Warwickshire (to the north). It is divided into five local government districts: Oxford, Cherwell, Vale of White Horse (after the Uffington White Horse), West Oxfordshire and South Oxfordshire. The county has a major tourist industry. The area is noted for the concentration of performance motorsport companies and facilities. Oxford University Press is the largest firm among a concentration of print and publishing firms; the University of Oxford is also linked to the concentration of local biotechnology companies. The main centre of population is the city of Oxford. Other significant settlements are Banbury, Bicester, Kidlington, and Chipping Norton to the north of Oxford; Witney to the west; Thame and Chinnor to the east; and Abingdon, Wantage, Didcot, Wallingford and Henley-on-Thames to the south. Future population growth in the county is hoped to be concentrated around Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, Didcot and Witney, near the South Midlands growth area. The highest point of the administrative county is White Horse Hill, in the Vale of White Horse, reaching 261 metres (856 ft). The highest point in the historic county is near Portobello Farm in the Chiltern Hills at 255 metres. Oxfordshire's county flower is the Snake's-head Fritillary.
