Russian Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Russian language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Russian course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

The Russian language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Russian language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Russian lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Russian lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Russian language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Merseyside Russian Course Schedules

Our Russian language courses in Merseyside take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Russian daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Russian language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Russian language course that you undertake will be customised for your Russian level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Russian level. You may have little or no experience of Russian and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Russian skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Russian language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Russian course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Russian Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Russian examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. Registration for and administration of Russian examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR. It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Merseyside is a metropolitan county in North West England, with a population of 1,365,900. Taking its name from the River Mersey, Merseyside came into existence as a metropolitan county in 1974, after the passage of the Local Government Act 1972, and the county consists of five metropolitan boroughs adjoining the Mersey Estuary, including the City of Liverpool. Merseyside County Council was abolished in 1986, and so its districts (the metropolitan boroughs) are now effectively unitary authorities. However, the metropolitan county is still recognised for ceremonial and administrative purposes. Merseyside is divided into two parts by the Mersey Estuary: the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral is located to the west of the estuary on the Wirral Peninsula; the rest of the county is located on the eastern side of the estuary. The eastern boroughs of Merseyside border Lancashire to the north and Greater Manchester to the east, and both parts of Merseyside, west and east of the estuary, border Cheshire to the south.
