London Russian Course SchedulesThe Russian language courses in London that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more.
We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Russian courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm.
Intensive Russian language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday. Before you start your Russian language course we will assess your level of Russian and speak to you about your aims so that your Russian language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Russian before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Russian when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Russian in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Russian Language Examination CoursesWe are happy to help in your preparation for any Russian examinations. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Russian examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Russian Courses London Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR.
It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom, the largest metropolitan area in the United Kingdom and the largest urban zone in the European Union by most measures. London has been a major settlement for two millennia, its history going back to its founding by the Romans, who called it Londinium. London's ancient core, the City of London, largely retains its square-mile mediaeval boundaries. Since at least the 19th century, the name London has also referred to the metropolis developed around this core. The bulk of this conurbation forms the London region and the Greater London administrative area, governed by the elected Mayor of London and the London Assembly.
