Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Russian Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Russian teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Russian tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Russian Lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Russian teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Russian means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Russian in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Our Russian courses are usually offered by our clients as 1:1 training for their employees. Group sessions, however, are also available and can be excellent value for money. Planning is required so that participants all meet at the same time each week, and we recommend that numbers are kept to 6 or less. 1:1 Russian lessons at Lincoln mean that you will have your individual needs, weaknesses and strengths catered for, so that your progress is quicker.

Russian Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Russian language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Russian course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON Russian language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Russian language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Russian courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Russian training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Russian courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Lincoln Russian Course Schedules

The Russian language courses in Lincoln that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Russian courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Russian language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Russian language course we will assess your level of Russian and speak to you about your aims so that your Russian language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Russian before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Russian when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Russian in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Russian language trainers will tailor your Russian course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Russian Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Russian examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Russian teachers in Lincoln. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Russian examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Russian Courses Lincoln

Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR. It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Lincoln is a cathedral city and county town of Lincolnshire, England. The non-metropolitan district of Lincoln has a population of 85,595; the 2001 census gave the entire urban area of Lincoln a population of 120,779. The council identifies a 'Greater Lincoln' catchment area covering surrounding villages and towns, which has a population of 250,000. It has several twin towns: Port Lincoln, South Australia; Radomsko, Poland; Tangshan, China; and Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany. The earliest origins of Lincoln can be traced to the remains of an Iron Age settlement of round wooden dwellings (which were discovered by archaeologists in 1972) that have been dated to the 1st century BC. This settlement was built by a deep pool (the modern Brayford Pool) in the River Witham at the foot of a large hill (on which the Normans later built Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle). The origins of the name Lincoln may come from this period, when the settlement is thought to have been named in the Brythonic language of Iron Age Britain's Celtic inhabitants as Lindon "The Pool", presumably referring to the Brayford Pool (compare the etymology of the name Dublin, from the Gaelic "dubh linn" ("black pool"). It is not possible to know how big this original settlement was as its remains are now buried deep beneath the later Roman and medieval ruins, as well as the modern city of Lincoln.
