Russian Course Management

Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Russian language course. We can arrange your Russian language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Russian language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Cumbria Russian Course Schedules

We run our Russian language courses in Cumbria all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Russian courses on request. Our Russian programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Russian language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Russian course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Russian and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Russian skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Russian and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Russian for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Russian language trainers will tailor your Russian course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Russian Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Russian examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR. It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

Cumbria is a non-metropolitan county in North West England, United Kingdom. Cumbria, and a new local authority called Cumbria County Council, came into existence as a county in 1974 after the passage of the Local Government Act 1972. The county consists of six districts, and in 2008 had a total population of just under half a million. Cumbria as a whole is one of the most sparsely populated counties in the UK with 73.4 people per km2 (190/sq mi).
