SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified native Russian speaking teachers average 15 years of experience. Professionals and private individuals from all over the UK have benefited from SIMON & SIMON’s Russian language courses, all of which are tailor-made to reflect each student's level of experience. We consistently receive outstanding feedback from our clients about our Russian tutors. Each student is sent a specific profile on the experience and background of their Russian tutor before they start their course of lessons.

New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is now approached. This training, with more fun and a more worthwhile experience means that it’s a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. When you start a Russian course in Buckingham, you will make progress from the very first lesson, as almost everything will be done in Russian. This is known as the Communicative Approach, and means that your confidence and ability will soon grow so that you can use Russian to communicate in social and business settings.

The Russian courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Russian training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. If you require faster progress, 1:1 Russian courses at Buckingham are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths.

Russian Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Russian language course. On starting your Russian course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Russian language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Russian language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Russian language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. For a list of the locations of the full-time residential Russian language courses that we offer, contact our office.

Buckingham Russian Course Schedules

The Russian language courses in Buckingham that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Russian courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Russian language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Russian language course we will assess your level of Russian and speak to you about your aims so that your Russian language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Russian before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Russian when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Russian in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Russian language trainers will tailor your Russian course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Russian Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Russian examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Russian teachers in Buckingham. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Russian examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR. It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.
