Shropshire Portuguese Course Schedules

Our Portuguese language courses in Shropshire go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Portuguese can be arranged on request. Our Portuguese courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Portuguese courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Portuguese language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Portuguese language course we will assess your goals and level of Portuguese experience. Your desire to learn Portuguese may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Portuguese to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Portuguese in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. Portuguese Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Portuguese examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Portuguese teachers in Shropshire who have a higher level of experience than average. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Portuguese is a Romance language developed from Galician-Portuguese that was spoken in the medieval Kingdom of Galicia. It is an official language of the European Union, the Organisation of American States, the African Union, and Lusophone countries. With around 240 million speakers, Portuguese is the sixth-most spoken language in the world. Portuguese is the official language of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Mozambique. According to estimates by UNESCO, Portuguese and Spanish are the fastest-growing European languages after English and the language has the highest potential for growth as an international language in southern Africa and South America.

Shropshire is a county in the West Midlands region of England. It borders Wales to the west. Shropshire is one of England's most rural and sparsely populated counties with a population density of 91/km2 (337/sq mi). The shire county and its districts were replaced by a unitary authority on 1 April 2009. The borough of Telford and Wrekin, included in Shropshire for ceremonial purposes, has been a unitary authority since 1998. The county is centred around six main towns starting with the county town of Shrewsbury, which is culturally and historically important, although Telford, which was constructed around a number of older towns, most notably Wellington, Dawley and Madeley, is today the most populous. The other main towns are Oswestry in the north-west, Newport to the east, Bridgnorth in the south-east, and Ludlow to the south.
