As we have a global network of language trainers your Portuguese language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Portuguese lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Portuguese lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Portuguese language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Oxfordshire Portuguese Course Schedules

Our Portuguese language courses in Oxfordshire take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Portuguese daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Portuguese language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Portuguese language course that you undertake will be customised for your Portuguese level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Portuguese level. You may have little or no experience of Portuguese and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Portuguese skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Portuguese language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Portuguese course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Portuguese Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Portuguese examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Portuguese teachers in Oxfordshire who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Portuguese examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Portuguese is a Romance language developed from Galician-Portuguese that was spoken in the medieval Kingdom of Galicia. It is an official language of the European Union, the Organisation of American States, the African Union, and Lusophone countries. With around 240 million speakers, Portuguese is the sixth-most spoken language in the world. Portuguese is the official language of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Mozambique. According to estimates by UNESCO, Portuguese and Spanish are the fastest-growing European languages after English and the language has the highest potential for growth as an international language in southern Africa and South America.

Oxfordshire is a county in the South East region of England, bordering on Warwickshire, Northamptonshire (to the north/northeast), Buckinghamshire (to the east), Berkshire (to the south), Wiltshire and Swindon (to the southwest), Gloucestershire (to the west) and Warwickshire (to the north).
